Pros: - Card is small enough to fit in most cases - Intel's control utilities exist and work. They aren't great or very powerful, but they're there and they work. - The media engine is stellar. H264, H265 and AV1 encode are all incredibly fast and very high-quality (decode works well, too) - Runs quiet
Cons: - The shroud and fans are pretty chintzy - It's a first-gen product and the drivers aren't great yet - It's a >2-slot card rather than a 2-slot card
Overall Review: I don't do much gaming, so I can't really speak to it. The gaming I have done has worked, but it's not really my thing. On the media side, it's really excellent and particularly great for the price. All of the main CODECs encode and decode extremely well and it's remarkably fast. I have had none of the Arc issues some others have like BSODs or compatibility problems. It's been stable, does what I bought it for, isn't tragically expensive and didn't require me to upgrade any other component.
Pros: - Price - Good gaming experience for the games I play on high settings (mainly D2R, Borderlands @ 2560x1080) - Setup was easier than expected on an old MSI H410M-Pro - As of this writing, can get 4 free games (need to sign up for Intel newsletter when redeeming MWII to get the games bundled with the A380 plus a bonus)
Cons: - Setup still not as easy as AMD or NVIDIA cards: had to update the BIOS and manually turn on ReBAR - GPU control center is a Windows overlay (still not use to that), and always pops up on boot requiring UAC approval. Imagine if the nVIDIA Control Panel did that each time you restarted the system. (Edit: As of 3959 drivers, UAC still required on boot, but overlay no longer pops up) - Computer will have no display sometimes when waking from sleep (using HDMI port, did not try DP Port) (Edit: Hasn't happened since 3959 drivers)
Overall Review: I bought this mainly as a novelty and curiosity, and was ready to fight tooth and nail against the driver problems and BSODs/artifacts that this series of GPUs was suppose to experience. I'm not an extensive gamer either, and so I wasn't too worried about my game catalog of 5 games not working. After trying the games for several hours each, I have not experienced any major problems aside from D2R not finding a GPU on start once. I also had the computer fail to display anything after waking from sleep. So far no BSODs or artifacts in games. Based on the games I tested the GPU in, I think it is a solid experience. There was more setup involved than usual and some hiccups along the way, but so far, I would still recommend this GPU if you are not afraid of tinkering with your system.
Overall Review: Perfect for my system and needs - analyzing stats....
Pros: I bought this for the price, much better stats than my gtx 1660,and the other brands are still way over priced. It took about 10 minutes to put in and load the drivers. Works great and seems to be a much clearer picture than the old one. Runs Crysis fine, ( I know , old game and old DX11, But it works,) Warhead on the other hand , had to turn down details to keep from being booted out of game. I read about older DX issues and hope they get them ironed out soon. Everything else is no problem so far. Also turned off windows gaming in settings and that seemed to help. Really good fit and finish, Also have ASROCK Pro motherboard so maybe thats a plus.
Cons: The only con is the drivers handling of older DX , using 3491 driver , so hope they get with the program. How about it ,INTEL ?
Overall Review: Jump in there and help INTEL bring these outrageous prices down!
