Pros: - Blazing fast - Quiet whisper Quiet during normal usage/gaming sessions - 100% Fan noise sounds like white noise - Crazy OC headroom - Unique design aesthetic - Stable clocks, temps and performance - Dual BIOS - RGB ON/OFF button
Cons: - Out of box fan profile is too conservative which causes junction temps to climb to 90c - Could use more RGB lighting since theres a hardware button to turn it on/off - Unique design aesthetic (Love it or hate it) - RGB light bar can only be seen when looking up at the card in most instances - No RGB sync with MOBO via PCIE. Youll need a 5v aRGB cable (not supplied) that goes from the back of the card to your MOBO. - Polychrome software is meh but it works (Run as administrator)
Overall Review: This is a beast of a card. Others might look better, have better RGB etc. but as far as the fundamentals are concerned this thing is a beast. Its cool, quiet and FAST with lots of options for tweaking. Personally I think this thing is sexy and easily the best variant of the 69xx XT cards. Ive had two 6900XTs (XTXH variants) before this, the Sapphire Toxic and XFX Merc 319 Limited Black. Those cards were beastly fast as well but they couldnt do it while staying quiet and cool. No more trade offs with this guy. I am amazed by what Asrock has managed to do here. This was my first Asrock product but it probably wont be my last. Good job Asrock 👍
Pros: Not just a slight upgrade from the 6900XT, a decent leap forward! Literally took me from the Top 78% (with a 6700XT) to 98%. Thank goodness prices have normalized.
Cons: Nothing to report. The install was painless, and the gains were instantaneous.
Overall Review: Just do it! No regrets here! You could wait if you want, but why?
Pros: Excellent performance. Stays reasonably cool and the fan doesn't have any weird noise to it. Doesn't have that ugly glittery gamer look -- looks pretty nice.
Cons: Can draw a lot of power.
Overall Review: I like it. Upgraded from an RX 6700XT reference card and this thing was worth every penny. Attached a timespy result.
Pros: -Fast. So, so ridiculously fast. -PCB quality is immaculate. -Strongest VRM layout of any 6950XT. -Overclocks like a beast. -Fantastic value and pairs great with the 5800X3D. -Seriously this thing is insanely fast.
Cons: -Heatsink/Fan QC is baaaad. -Card itself isn't exactly a looker. -Cheap RGB and bad software. -As with all AMD cards RT performance is lackluster.
Overall Review: The disparity in quality between the GPU/PCB itself and the heatsink/fan assembly is huge. The PCB itself is built like a tank. Ridiculously high quality power stages, boost caps for the memory everywhere, clean board layout, just primo. But the heatsink/fan that came with it was really bad. When I received the card the entire fin stack was bent and the leftmost fan had bad bearings out of the box. And this isn't just me, others have also reported the same issues with this card in other reviews and on Reddit. Luckily I was planning on putting the card on water from day one and only had to use the air cooler for a week or so, but if I had wanted to use the card with the stock cooler it would have ended up being an RMA. That being said the GPU is amazing. This thing is so fast, absolutely eats anything you throw at it at 1440p. On water I'm able to sustain 2.85GHz on the core and 2.35GHz+FT on the memory at +20% power target and have yet to see it crash. I could probably go a little bit higher with MPT but I don't feel the need to because it already hits 120-150FPS in *anything* on ultra settings at 1440p. Averaging ~23,850ish GFX score in Time Spy. Absolutely eats the 3090's lunch in raster and depending on your OC can even outscore a 3090Ti in some benches. If you have a 5800X3D the frametimes are downright buttery. When the framerate increases/drops by a significant amount it doesn't feel so much like a "drop" as it does a "slide". It's hard to explain but once you see it you'll know. It feels like the whole rendering pipeline has been greased up. Overall I would still recommend this card, It's just too fast/too cheap not to. If you get one with a bad HSF assembly seriously RMA it as quickly as possible because ASRock really needs to sort that biz out. That should never, ever, ever be an issue with a top-end halo card. I would also highly suggest you put the card on water (Bykski makes a full-coverage block that works with both the 6900XT OCF and the 6950XT OCF) because if you keep the temps down you can REALLY open up the performance. Great card, not so great heatsink.
Pros: This card plays most games I have at max settings at my monitor's max refresh rate (144). The card also stays fairly cool. My fan curve in Andrenalin maxes at 55% and the hotspot has yet to get above 81C, which for an AMD card isnt bad! Fans are quiet as well at those settings. The build quality is also top notch, very sturdy card and the included gpu support bracket is a plus.
Cons: No cons that I have encountered so far. It is a chunky card, but I wouldnt say its a con. Most top tier cards are huge.
Overall Review: Great card! Would highly recommend to anyone. You also cant beat the price since it currently sells at reference card msrp.
Pros: - This ASRock OC Formula 6950 XT is a very powerful gpu that has gained me lots of performance from my 1070. - Came packaged very well and securely. - Full metal construction makes this card very solid and premium feeling. - Included gpu bracket supports very well and there is no sag using it.
Cons: - Rather large. Not a surprise, but it almost doesnt fit in my O11 Dynamic. It is essentially a 3-slot card but it only has 2-slots for the PCI bracket. Main issue with the height of the card and not the length. Just be sure to check if your case will be able to fit this and power connectors before buying!
Overall Review: Have been very satisfied with this gpu. After running DDU and altering some setting in games I have no crashes or random issues. Stays cool and is quiet with very little coil whine.
Pros: Good GPU to buy for same MSRP as the reference cards. RGB is minimal and clean which I like.
Cons: GPU does get loud if you increase the fan limit, I believe by default it limits it at a quiet amount which could negate some headroom for the gpu to boost. Temps are as expected for a very high-end card, though I'm sure you can easily undervolt this card for better temps at quieter fan speeds.
Overall Review: I did this review for ASRock review rebate program, but I was planning on making a review anyways as I feel obligated to since there's not much info around the 6950XTs
Pros: Price and Performance
Overall Review: Running this card with a Ryzen 5600 and RM750x PSU with zero issues! This card pushes my 3440x1440 160hz monitor to its limit. Expect anywhere from 110-160hz in a variety of games without FSR. FSR bring a majority of AAA games up to my monitors max refresh rate. Card pulls around 350w at full tilt with junction temps stabilized around 95*C. No regrets purchasing this card at $699. Its a rasterization powerhouse that remains competitive against next generation hardware.
Pros: The build quality of this GPU is top notch, every title I play is maxed out 1440P ultra or extreme settings. I highly recommend this product.
Cons: AMD Adrenalin has limits placed on overclocking which is something I think they'll change in the near future.
Overall Review: Recommend this Product. Make sure you have a PC with Great AirFlow Make sure your PSU is 1000W Plat for High Current as this one is hungry
Pros: Crazy overclock headroom, thermals are in check, never over 71C, and kicks boot, in all AAA games. Talking 250fps on ultra on 1440p.
Overall Review: All in all, this card is the best of the best. No issues thus far. Great gpu.
