Pros: TLDR: Great Cooling, Fast , Great Build Quality, Better Ray Tracing than 6950 XT, Good RGB software. - Great Build Quality and Heatsink led to cool temperatures, high clocks and great performance. 80c max hotspot, 47c average temp in synthetic test, 55c in game. - Solid Overclocker using Adrenaline software +15% power limit, under-volt of 1055, 2970 max clock, 2470 min clock, 2764 memory, 48c average custom fan curve. - Time Spy Extreme GPU: 16538, Port Royal: 17415 - 10+ FPS boost in Callisto Protocol 4K Ultra settings. - The ray tracing performance is a notable improvement coming from a 6950 XT. - The RGB software is easy to use.
Cons: Not really a con but a potential improvement. - Included GPU bracket could be improved to orient for different cases ( not usable with installed bottoms fans in fractal torrent )
Overall Review: TLDR: Purchase this model if you are looking to maximize the potential of the 7900 XTX chip. Build: The Taichi is built incredibly well, it's a large and heavy card with great cooling, low noise and high overclocking potential. The included gpu support bracket is appreciated and helps. Performance: The Taichi allows for great overclocking out the box using the adrenaline software. The in-game performance uplift I've experienced is 10.5% in the Callisto Protocol ultra settings FSR 2 off. In testing with gameplay and synthetic benchmarks my temps were 55c/76c hotspot and 46c/77c hotspot average. This was with a 2970 Max clock, 2470 min clock, 1055 voltage, 2764 memory clock, +15% power limit. Value: Coming from a 6950 XT I have experienced a 37.6% performance increase from stock out the box settings. With an overclock on the 7900 XTX the increase becomes 52.1%. In-game numbers for the Callisto protocol were 105fps (7900xtx OC/ 95fps stock) and 69fps (6950xt stock). When overclocking the 6950 XT the gap was closed to 43.8% with the 6950 XT providing 73fps. While this is a small sample with an AMD optimized game, my experience was positive. The Taichi 7900XTX is priced higher than MSRP because it's objectively a better version of the card and represents that in its performance and cooling. Summary: If you are coming from a previous generation and want to upgrade you will see a noticeable performance increase. If you are looking for the best performing GPU from AMD this is it. If you are looking for the best bang for your buck GPU at 4k then consider the 6950XT at $699. I hope this review helps, do your research and find what works for you 🙂
Pros: Achieving over 3 MHz was easy even on the default power limit with undervolting. Card stays relatively cool with roughly a 20degree margin between the the hotspot and edge temp.
Cons: Would have been a 5 star review if I hadnt found many of the screws to be loose. When I received the card I noticed the fan shroud seemed loose. I tightened those and checked the rest of the screw and found many of them were not tight. Most worrying is the screws in the mount were loose. I will likely have to have to re paste the card.
Overall Review: This is my second taichi card from Asrock and have had great success with their products. So I was a bit disappointed with the quality control on this card with all of the loose screws. The performance is great but had I not checked all of the screws the result could have been very negative.
Pros: Benchmarks well in Time Spy Extreme
Cons: RDNA3 I wish I could say that the card has been perfect but no matter what I do I can't keep my system from crashing. Ultimately had to start a return on mine.
Overall Review: I ended up really liking the look of the card although I have my heart set on a Sapphire Nitro+
Pros: Port royal 15707 - stock bios - 400w - 53c Port royal 16812 - O.C. - 462w - 55c (and room to go) +It's huge but the cooler more than delivers with how cold this card stays (and has a kickstand) +Can turn off RGB using a switch on the pcb +During normal games it will hover around 48-53c
Cons: -I had dll errors after enabling S.A.M. but using the repair tool on the driver's installation fixed my issue -Ive seen power spikes up to 520w but overclocked during port royal it levels out around 462w
Overall Review: Wildly more powerful vs my old 2080ti and colder
Pros: -Very quiet when GPU is under 100% load -Keeps Cool! Junction temp never passes 90 and GPU temp is around 60 -Long and Heavy! For me that's a pro because you know it's built well and it will keep cool. -40%-50% gains from my 6900XT -Runs A lot of games at 4K 120hz -This card is absolutely beautiful!
Cons: -Price, $200 over MSRP is a bit too much. -Drivers are not fully optimized for all games so waiting for future updates.
Overall Review: I prefer this card over the Red Devil. Overall an amazing 4K gaming GPU.
Overall Review: Great card. Looks amazing. Handles everything like a champ. Mainly playing at 1440P and it runs amazing. Managed to squeeze into Fractal Ridge with some work. This card is huge so double check your dimensions.
Pros: I am amazed how nice this card is on my pc, even is not part of the black and white color scheme of my pc but i love it. It came on a week from purchase and i saw no problem or any damage to the shipping box. The card was costly but am happy with the performance so far so i believe it was worth every dollar!
Cons: The card it self is a little heavy.
Overall Review: I highly recommend this video card. Am happy with the decision of buy it.
Overall Review: Rock solid card that looks great, stays cool, and delivers serious oomph! Playing Hogwarts at 144fps and 1440p is smooth as glass and I havent even messed with clock tweaks yet. Max temps Ive seen are low 70s. Even includes a little post to hold the end of the card up. Lighting software is kinda meh, but you only need to set it once and it commits the settings to the cards memory. With a 5800x and this card at maximum power, my max draw on a watt meter is 620w, which is great for my gold rated 750w psu.
Overall Review: Amazing product very power hungry but definitely one of the best RX7900 XTX dollar performance flat out really happy with it works great no problems at all ray tracing could use a little bit of work on AMD side but other than that amazing product I very much recommend it
Pros: This GPU rocks! The look is pretty cool, but mainly it just destroys games. Stays quiet when in "Quiet" bios mode as well. It's also cheaper than the similar Sapphire Nitro+
Cons: Lots of coil whine when in "Performance" bios mode, but when in "Quiet" bios it's not noticeable.
Overall Review: Fantastic card, recommend for anyone looking for a 7900 XTX.
