Overall Review: Very good card! Yes it is over priced but I had saved up and decided to buy this instead of 4090 and use extra money for a 13700k. Temps are fantastic stays at 63 degrees with fans spinning at 60%.

Cons: No display, does not post, all bios updated, using MSI Pro A Z790 DDR4

Overall Review: Workaround: used built in Intel IGPU to install Windows, Firmware from Nvidia wouldnt work as card not detected. From many sources on the Web , seems to be a bad adapter from Gigabyte. Im using 2 out of 3 8 pins and then card will post and run normal. Im using a PSU Corsair 1000 Rmx Im ordering a new adapter to see if I can use all 3 8 pins. I will use Intel IGPU intill I can solve, last stop RMA

Pros: + I mean, it's an RTX 4080, it's insane. + It's a huge jump from the 3080, and if you've been waiting to jump on the RTX train since the 1080, it's going to be massive. + The only games I can't lock at 5120x1440 @ 120 FPS are Cyberpunk 2077 and Warhammer 40,000 Darktide. These are the two most demanding games on the market. Everything else is 120+ easy.

Cons: - The far and away worst part about this device, and why I have a hard time giving it a higher rating was because of the 12VHPWR cable that came with the card. Upon installing this card, I was given the 5 beep code error. To save a very long story of troubleshooting nightmares, the fix was unplugging one of the 8pin PCI-E connectors from the cables. This worked in the short term, and after an after market 12VHPWR cable, the card is 100% functional with all 3 cables plugged in. If you have the same issue, I highly recommend these steps as the card, again, was perfectly functional, it was just the provided 12VHPWR cable that was the problem. - It's not a 4090. At this price range, where you're able to spend 1200 dollars, you might as well keep saving up to 1600 as it's not that far away, and get a 4090.... if you find one at that price. If you buy now, you're buying knowing this card will likely not maintain it's 1200 price tag. If this doesn't sit well with you, keep waiting for the used market, or NVIDIA to adjust the prices. If you can get this card for 1000 even, I think that's an unreasonably good value for the power. - No picture will ever do it justice, but this card is huge. Incredibly thick, and incredly long. It fit very snug into my NZXT H710i. If you don't have a case with a lot of space, I highly recommend pre-measuring to make sure this will fit.

Overall Review: I definitely recommend the 4080..... at not this price. 1000 would be the best price to buy it for. If you run into the issue I mentioned above, buy a new 12VHPWR cable, and you'll be happy. In the meantime, unplug one of your 8pin PCI-E cables. If you can, save for a 4090 instead. Otherwise, this card is still a very viable upgrade, even going from the 3080.

Overall Review: I upgraded from a 3080 and it's a totally different experience. Not only powerful, it's also quieter and more power efficient. Be sure that your case is big enough for it.

Overall Review: Building three identical PCs for a scientific application, all with RTX 4080 video cards. One has an Asus card, one has a Gigabyte "gaming" 4080, and one has this Gigabyte "Eagle" 4080. No problems with the computers having the Asus or Gigabyte Gaming card, but this card has the same issue that so many others report...card will not work with all three PCIe cables plugged in but works with 2. This has to be some sort of firmware issue with this card...hard to believe for what this card costs that the problem got by QA. Another problem with both of the Gigabyte cards is with the anti-sag bracket...it's not compatible with eATX motherboards. I had to fabricate custom brackets to keep these behemoths from sagging and eventually breaking the motherboard. To be fair the little support peg Asus included with their card was a joke but the problem with the Gigabyte brackets could easily be fixed with some minor design changes. Also, for reasons that escape me, the part of the bracket that screws onto the cards is different for the "Gaming" and "Eagle" versions of this card. Seems kinda silly they couldn't design the two cards to use the same bracket.

Pros: -Power Draw is very good -Very Stable Overclock -Good temperatures -GDDR6X -16 gb VRAM is more or less futureproof -Very lightweight

Cons: -A bit bigger than a 3090 however, feels way lighter -Gap from 4090 is huge performance wise -Adaptor poking out of the side of the card makes it so that it is slightly touching/bending when I screw my glass case back on

Overall Review: -I have it overclocked +130 on core clock and +1200 on memory clock and it has not crashed or have any glitching. -Temperatures has not exceeded 74C when overclocked when it was reaching 90C on Metro Exodus Enhanced edition with the 3090 stock settings -up to 100 fps on Dying light 2 4K maxed settings w/ RTX with DLSS quality -Cyberpunk 4K maxed with DLSS auto and RTX gets on average 70-80 FPS but can get up to 90 FPS in certain areas and down below 60 FPS for a quick second in some crowded areas -I do feel like $1000 instead of $1200 would of been a perfect price point for this sort of performance, although it is cheaper, faster, and cooler than a 3090 ti so how can we really complain

Overall Review: This is a great card and I would give it 5 out of 5, however the power adapter that came with the card did not work. I see from other reviews and discussions in other forums that I am not the only one. The 12vrpwr that came with the card has 3 connectors for PCIE from your PSU. With all three plugged in the card will not work. I tried many ways to troubleshoot this including a different power supply and still nothing. I bought a new 12vrpwr adapter and sure enough the card worked.

Overall Review: So far I am very happy with the card overall. It's been staying cool and very quiet, I don't seem to suffer from any coil whine. The cooler is ridiculous in size compared to the PCB, but it's actually much lighter than I would have thought. Just be sure to double check your case will accommodate the card. I have an older Phanteks Enthoo Primo and I had to modify the drive cage to allow the card and the anti sag bracket to fit/work. Only real complaint I have is the power adapter included did not work. The motherboard vga diagnostic led stayed lit, no display output and the fans would not spin. Like another review here, I found on reddit someone stating the power cable was faulty and for the heck of it I ordered a new one to try. Shockingly it worked but I want to see if Gigabyte will send another for me to try.

Pros: First impressions are positive overall. This is high performance video card with reasonable power consumption. I did some benchmarks, and the highest number I saw in Afterburner is 338 W for the card alone (Metro Exodus Enhanced edition benchmark with max settings), so my current 750 W PSU is more than fine. And this is before any undervolting. This card has massive cooler (double check if it is going to fit into your case!) which helps keeping card cool and quiet. There is some minor coil whine at very high FPS, but it is nothing like I had in the case of Asus ROG Strix RTX 3080, which I returned after ~ 1 week due to unbearable coil whine.

Cons: Early adopter problems. This card did not output video signal with all three 8-pin cables connected to the 16-pin adapter. Card works just fine with two 8-pin cables connectors to the 16-pin adapter. I hope Gigabyte is going to say something about this problem or fix it, may be through the card firmware.

Overall Review: My reasoning for buying 4080 instead of 4090. Many respectable reviewers on YouTube pointed out that the 4080 has worse price per FPS ratio compared to the 4090. But for me personally, 4090 is not an option because with 4090 I have to buy new high-end PSU and new UPS which would be at least ~ 400 500 $ plus the difference in price between the 4080 and 4090 which is another ~ 400$ (Lowest MSRPs). In my opinion not worth it. The 4080 is expensive but also futureproof, I hope for 5 years at least.
