Pros: -runs all my games at maxed, while running 2 monitors and a VR headset -runs super cool, from 50C to 55C under load -RGB - quiet, large fans keep the card cool without sounding like a jet engine
Cons: - huge card, takes up almost 4 slots, covers all but one pci-e x1 slot on my motherboard - power adapter works but is ugly - overpriced when compared to AMD cards - barely fits in a corsair 4000D (but it does!)
Overall Review: Honestly, it's a beast of a card in multiple ways. After not being able to get my hands on a 4090, i figured this would be something i could actually buy. I would definitely buy this card again, even if the "value" is better elsewhere, as i had a 2070 super and it was time for an upgrade. It's been quiet, the RGB is tastefull, and it feels good to actually fill out a case with hardware this big. I've been trying all of my most demanding games and have been enjoying the ability to max them all out and not see low frame rates in anything.
Pros: What isn't there to like from this GPU? It comes with everything right? It's massive. It barely fit in My Corsair iCue 465X. I'd recommend a larger case for this like a Corsair 5000X or bigger. You'll definitely want the extra room. The mounting bracket for this was cake. It works well. When it comes to performance, this was definitely the 2nd fastet GPU money could have bought at the time. My friend asked me, can it play Crysis? Yes. Why yes it can. Probably at 8K too. Most of my games received 200 to 300% performance boost coming from a 2070. It was a big leap.
Cons: This card is massive. It's the biggest GPU I have ever seen. I thought this 2070 was massive. This thing is gargantuan. Power consumption requires at least an 850W PSU. Oh and price. It seems to me that my whole gaming rig from 4 years ago cost as much as this GPU. It's not the 4090. I wanted a 4090 but got tired of waiting for the prices to come down or for it to become available.
Overall Review: I would recommend that people wait for the price to comedown before getting this. If you can get a 4090 at retail, probably just do that. It's not a particular good buy but it's great that you can put one in your cart and get it to your door. With this card being about 73% of the speed of the 4090, It's good enough for government.
Pros: Just got it today and tried cyberpunk. Noticable jump in fps over my 3080. On dlss performance, my 3080 was pulling about 40-45 fps. On dlss quality, I'm pulling 60-65. This is with Ray tracing at ultra and everything else maxed. At native 1440p, with no dlss, I was getting 30ish fps on the same setting. My 3080 was getting 10-15. Big difference.
Cons: Card is huge. I cannot express this enough. I didn't take it seriously until I saw it in person. Almost twice as big as my 3080. Hyte y60 case is just barely big enough.
Overall Review: I haven't run it through the paces fully, yet. I quick checked it on my lunch break. So far, it's awesome. Incredible difference over my 3080. Will update the review in a few days to see if anything has changed.
Pros: -Runs just about everything at 4k on high/ultra settings without issue -looks great -easy setup
Cons: -it's huge so it won't fit in some cases -you will need an anti sag brace unless you mount it vertically -it's expensive
Overall Review: It's a massive(no pun intended) upgrade over my old 1080 and I can now run all of my games with all settings on max in 4k at over 100fps.
Pros: Plays all games at max settings without issue. Runs cool and quiet. Comes with a well thought out anti sag bracket.
Cons: Its huge! The 12 v plug is on the side which may interfere with the side panel on some cases.
Overall Review: Overall this is an excellent card. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a gpu upgrade. The msrp this generation may not be ideal but its available and not marked up. I say if you can afford it buy it. You wont be disappointed.
Pros: Actually, I could not distinguish any damage or anything that would indicate any kind of previous hangup. Just a little bit of dings on the through-fan port towards the end of the card that looked like the head of an AIO lightly fell on it. Other then that it smelled like manufacturing oil and boxes. So far this thing performs as new. Ive benchmarked it after optimizing my build to be sure. This thing holds to quality what id expect after paying such a heafty sum. Gigabyte gaurentee seal, 4 years warranty, and at the time was selling at msrp. You did deliver a quality product and as much a deal for that time in the market so I can thank you guys for that. Just like you've all heard, it plays everything at any resolutions at max settings. This is a moster gaming GPU. This particular model isn't as high of a base clock over founders as other manufacturers, but there is overclocking headroom. Ive played BF 2042 for hours with +215 to core and +1400 to memory with absolutely no stutters, crashes, blue or black screens, etc. and im only getting over 60 c degrees after setting fan curve. This thing has power, it gives you tinkering room, its quiet (at least for me), and it actually just works. Ive been having a good O'l time just playing with the GPU separately just seeing what all it can do. ^^^^but all of that is highly unnecessary. Out of the box, no overclocking or knowhow of any of that stuff, this is a great gpu. If you too paid to get a 4000's card or are certian you must right now, you won't be dissatisfied with its quality or performance. If I got a refurbished model in basically brand new condition, then an actual brand new one can only be better.
Cons: Just the msrp scandal that is mostly Nvidia's fault. I can't blame Gigabyte for that.
Overall Review: If you absolutely must upgrade right now and there is now way you can wait a few months to check with markets, this is actually a quality buy. Not a good one because 4000's series gpus are all ambiently expensive, but these guys consistantly sell this model lower than the current competition as of typing this. At least from any store I know that I trust. As for any remarks on the manufacturer or the seller(s): I'm liking the performance and quality of this gpu, but everyone has the same complaint about the heatsink design.... I feel like this was a missed opportunity by all manufacturers to maybe design their own. Change the shape around some so it isn't taking up as much length, or at least attempt to make it around a 3080/3090 size... because that's really been delaying allot of people's builds, and removing form factor customization all around. Now as for newegg, I know about the rma issues and service problems you've had previously... that said I was greeted with actually really gracious support from you guys on my own endevor building my own rig, friends rig, and some other parts for other systems I had that more than a few times I mistakenly ordered the wrong parts and needed to replace them. You guys seem to really have cracked down on bad customer support, so please keep that up! You all except Nvidia get A's and B's. they get a D. I would give them an F but the hardware is indeed powerful, its the focal point of all our critisizms after all. If either purely by trolling the market or the fact they can stir up this much controversy over price arrangements, there's something impressive about that in its own right, Even though it is wrong. I really hope they don't take that as a compliment though.
Pros: This thing is an absolute beast. Runs rly cool and is very silent no comparison to my GTX 680 LOL.
Cons: Huge make sure you have enough room in your case for this beast. does anyone get a coil whine with this particular card. Seems after owning the card for a couple weeks coil whine is present even at idle while using widows.
Overall Review: What a power house.
Pros: Really incredible performance and performs incredibly while streaming and recording. Runs very cool and quiet.
Cons: The price and the size. It was so big it didnt fit in my fractal torrent compact, unless I took out one of the front fans.
Overall Review: Awesome
Pros: Fast, quiet, looks great. I had a 3080 before this and it sounded like a jet whenever I played a game. Half the time Im playing a game now the fans actually turn off.
Cons: Should be a bit cheaper than it is.
Overall Review: I had the same problem some of these other people did with the card not posting at first. The problem was that I had to turn rebar support off in the bios to get it running. Weird thing is once it got going I turned rebar back on and it was fine. But I hope those other people figured it out. Im loving my 4080.
Pros: Working really great
Cons: Price is too high.
Overall Review: One note. Maybe it's just my mobo (Asus Prime z790-A WiFi), but the support bracket this card comes with, installed as directed, is just a liiittle wide on one corner. Enough that it blocks the USB header for the case ports. I filed it down a couple mm's though and it's fine now.
