Pros: *Competitive price versus other 3080s (this is generically true, not trying to get into price specifics as per the Newegg review guidelines) *Good Ampere chip that can run at high clocks with lower voltage (this is crucial to its best performance, read on) *Effective cooling solution that keeps the card at safe operating temperatures even at full 350W power *Performance capabilities well in line with other 3080 models *12GB of VRAM likely to be "enough" for more time versus 8/10GB
Cons: *Lack of RGB lighting makes it an outlier these days *350W hard power limit means that it can't draw more power to achieve even higher performance unlike other AIB 3080 designs *Fan design not as advanced as slightly more expensive MSI models
Overall Review: This card has been a stellar pickup for me. Its stock performance at default settings was a bit lower than the average for 3080 12GB cards, though still a lot higher than even a good 3070 Ti card. The reason for its performance not being as high as some others is because, like its predecessor the 10GB Ventus model from MSI, it features a rather low power limit compared to its direct competition. The 10GB had just 320W to work with, while this card has 350W, and that is a hardware-enforced limit so it isn't something you can just drag a slider to overcome. So, being that its performance by default is power-limited, how can you get better than stock performance without the usual route of running more power through it and overclocking? The answer lies in undervolting! A process that is safe and effective, placing no additional load on the GPU and in fact making it run cooler, with less power usage at a given clock speed. Not every card will have the same undervolting performance, but the process of finding your card's efficiency point couldn't be easier. You can see my attached screenshot for my voltage curve and resulting 3DMark scores for my MSI Ventus 3080 12GB 3X Plus OC, about 5% more than I got with it stock with better thermals and power. Its stock boost behavior tended to stay in the mid-1800s or low 1900s while drawing a full 350W at 1.1V for its highest clocks. Undervolted, its clock is stable at or around 1995MHz at .9V, which has proven stable for my chip in all testing and all gaming applications including raytracing-enabled and advanced DX12 games. This stability lets it achieve greater performance while drawing typically lower wattage and also therefor lower temperatures. The lower temperatures are also related to its boost stability, as nVidia's boosting algorithm takes temperature into account. The only downside to undervolting is that it takes a moment of your time and some stability testing, that's it. Unlike overvolting which places additional strain on components, this actually lets them do their job under even safer conditions than stock! Before you start, run a benchmark at its stock settings so you can get an idea of how high it wants to boost. You will not be able to exceed its stock boost behavior, which might use a voltage as high as 1.1V, with your undervolt, and in fact will probably need to use a lower clock than that, so keep that in mind. My card would boost to 2040Mhz at stock, but only for a split second as it would quickly become power limited and downclock further. But, that gave me a good idea of what a realistic goal should be as I undervolted: definitely not quite that high. Once you've got an idea of what it does stock, get started: 1. Install MSI's excellent "Afterburner" software, and set a clock offset of -260 right off the bat in the "Core Clock MHz" box on that software, and click the checkmark "Apply" button, to the right of the floppy disk-looking "Save Settings" button. That will set the voltage to a very reasonable curve right away, close to the stock boost frequency from nVidia's design. 2. hit "Ctrl+F" to open up the Voltage Curve editor. You want to find the vertical line corresponding to .9V, and (using either your mouse, or your arrow keys) move the frequency point at that .9V line up to a reasonable setting. Because my card did 2040Mhz at 1.1V, I first tried moving this to 1935MHz, which it easily achieved in testing. Set your card's frequency at .9V to something reasonable based on your own card's stock clock, and hit the "Apply" checkmark. That will automatically change the rest of the curve so that it now uses that voltage and under for its clock rates, and never exceeds .9V. 3. If stability testing does not result in benchmarks failing to run or crashing, congratulations, you've got a working undervolt! Test in some demanding games, titles that use DX12 and Raytracing, and if you get stable performance without issues or crashing, you've just saved power and gained performance. 4. Now, you can start to tune the performance level up. Boosting works in 15MHz increments, so move it up 15MHz at a time, repeat testing, and find what level of performance you can get at .9V - well below stock voltage, and thus at a lower power usage overall with better temperatures. I found my chip remains perfectly stable and has performance improvements up to 1995MHz at .9V, which was good for a substantial performance gain over the stock settings as it will dial into that clock speed and stay there for the duration of gaming, instead of throttling! Other voltages may work, but with only 350W, "less" can be "more" for performance. Remember to use the floppy disk-looking "Save" feature to save your resulting profile to one of the numbers on the right of MSI Afterburner to easily apply it again later, or even at startup. I hope this review has been helpful to others who bought this excellent value card. I wish you all success and happiness getting the most from it!

Pros: - Good balance between features, price, and performance. - Plenty of room for undervolting & overclocking. - The simple design is appealing. - The default fan curve seems to prioritize low noise generation over extreme cooling.
Cons: - Some users may prefer a more aggressive default fan curve to easily take advantage of the overclocking headroom for this card. - This isn't a slight at MSI, but Nvidia's GPU Boost is a double edged sword. If you want to control how much the boost affects your card temperature, you'll have to lower the overall temperature limit and power limits through the MSI Afterburner program.
Overall Review: I'm able to undervolt this card to operate at 850mV with respectable GPU core boosts kicking in. Very happy with this card, considering I was able to purchase this for a fairly reasonable price.

Pros: Fast enough no need for OC Solid build Worked out of the box
Cons: Price is still a bit high No other cons , SO FAR
Overall Review: I will be honest . After doing a lot of research I wasn't set on getting this MSI card. It has had some mixed reviews and wasn't the top recommended card . This card and the price , although still a bit high was closer to my idea of fair price and it was in stock so i bought it. I have seen MSI put out a few bad mother boards and cards over a few years but also have seen them fix those issues and put out some highly praised mother boards and cards. I have been gaming for 20 years so i have been around and seen the good and bad. It happens to best of manufactures and it is what they do to fix quality control that counts. I bought a Tomahawk mother board after Hardware On Boxing did a review and showed MSI really stepped up and made a better board then last before. So I am hoping this card will hold up and time will tell. I have only had it for about 2 weeks so I will definitely keep this review updated. Card work out of the box and is running 4k maxed above 60 fps all day long and temps and other are great with factory settings. I wont over clock it or even tweak settings as its doing everything I want with out a fuss . So It is new but so far so good.

Pros: runs reasonably cool while gaming (65C at 75% fan speed) with a custom fan curve is pretty quiet as well. good uplift in perfomance over my 2080 ti no unecessary options (dual bios, rgb etc)
Cons: No problems so far. Although the price had come down some it was still more expensive than i would like to have paid.
Overall Review: I think anyone would like this card and , unless you want to wait for prices to reach normalcy, i can recommend it.

Pros: * Great FPS at any resolution (massive overkill at 1080p) * I really love the looks of this card as I have mine paired with the X570 Unify. If you are going for a pleasing aesthetic without RGB, this should be on your shortlist. * Runs cool when undervolted.(66-68c for me)
Cons: None so far.
Overall Review: Undervolting this card is a must. Stability sweet spot for me was .876V. I overclocked the mem clock by 200MHz but pushing it any higher would crash the card during benchmarks. Doing the Undervolt dropped my GPU temp from 77c to 66-68c @ 65% fan speed while gaming with no loss in performance in my Lian Li Lancool 2 mesh performance case. Depending on the game, my GPU boosts a bit over 2GHz with this undervolt.

Pros: Super fast! Great FPS. Not terribly expensive compared to the 3090 and 3090 ti. Does need fan curve adjustment as does ALL GPUS out of the box. NO RGB! This is a plus for me. I like subtle lights not a carnival.
Cons: Rebates are silly, just lower the price and pass along the savings to the customer instead of jumping through hoops to do it. Doesn't do my taxes for me
Overall Review: I would recommend this to other people I would buy it again if the price was right like this one.

Pros: - amazing 3080 performance - it was in stock and not $1500
Cons: - take your pick between loud or hot or both. default settings load was 85c and loud. Reduced the power limit to 85% in msi afterburner and used custom fan curve - 81c and semi-loud. - my previous card (zotac gtx 1070 ti) ran in this same case around 65c load overclocked and quite. - if i take my case side off completely temps only drop around 4c, so my airflow is at least decent in my case (6 fans in my case).
Overall Review: - the good news is that even at 85% power I am still getting the core clocks overclocked to what they were running at with default settings. So my framerate is still amazing at 85% power limit - which means the fans can be at a reasonable volume, although they are still kinda loud. - i would not recommend this card unless you have really good airflow in your case.

Pros: -It's a 3080. Performance is easily quantified on dozens of sites. -No frills. The box has a couple of manuals, a support bar, and the GPU. This may sound minimalistic, but it's what I want. The money went to make the product good, not to buy a bunch of extra frills that will get stored in a dark corner.
Cons: Two words; "Jet Engine." The card, upon any powerup, sucks air like it was going out of style.
Overall Review: Would I recommend it? - Yes Is it reasonably priced? - Well....for the current time it was So, the GPU prices are coming back down to earth. That said, the 12 GB version of the 3080 is still in a wonky place. Depending upon the time frame, the 10 GB version might somehow be more expensive. That said, the initial performance of this GPU is decent. It matches roughly what was expected of the benchmarks. What is surprising is that despite an enormous amount of airflow, this card starts up and shuts down by pulsing the fans at 100%. I come from much lower tier products (most of the time I purchase something in the xx60 or at most xx70 bracket), and was expecting much less air movement. If you can find this at a reasonable price you should pick it up. It's no frills, no gaudiness, and it's not as aggressively clocked as some other models. That said, it's pretty much performing at expected levels and hopefully has the longevity to be a 5-7 year card. Hopefully by that point it's competing with whatever the 6060 is, and at that point it'll be time to change. Please note that this is an LHR card. It's meant for gaming. If you have other goals, maybe look elsewhere. I can only state that I'm satisfied. It's not the best card, it's still very expensive (despite being nearly replaced), but despite this it's pretty much the best option for 4k gaming.

Pros: - Golden sample? Mine OC'd VERY well - Temps rarely go over 70C, but I do crank the fans when gaming (who cares when you have noise-cancelling headphones- a MUST for gamers) - Runs 35C or less at idle - Seems like a high quality build - 12GB gives a little more headroom versus the standard 10GB 3080 model - Pushing out high frame rates on a 3440x1440p 175Hz monitor!
Cons: - No LEDs at all. I don't need a light show, but a few status light would be nice. Barely a con.
Overall Review: I would recommend this GPU to anyone and would happily buy it again. The price was reasonable and from what I've read the 4080 is only going to be about 20% faster and consume a lot more energy. Unless you're pushing 4K, not worth the wait or the potential issues of high prices/low availability to wait.

Pros: Can usually handle games at 1440p
Cons: Gets way too hot for how powerful and how many fans there are.
Overall Review: Wanted to like this card, but shouldve known better than to get MSI. Whenever playing any current games at high settings and 1440p (which the card should be able to handle) the fans go to 100% and the GPU gets hot way too fast for a card thats supposed to be a powerhouse. Theres plenty of space around the card so its not suffocating. It just gets hot. And loud. Its so hot in fact that my computer shuts down. I tried to change fan curves but that didnt help. Ive heard undervolting can help but I dont know enough to try it. Consumers shouldnt have to adjust a product for it to work, that should be on the manufacturer/seller. Severely disappointed in this card. To anyone that was interested- get something else/another brand.
