Pros: - Runs almost all games I want at 4k with high settings at 90-100fps and above (even without FSR) - Cheapest next gen card that outperforms everything from previous generations. - Can get louder in smaller form factor cases if the airflow is limited but even then nothing compared to the jet fans we had in previous generations - Kind of the power requirements - full load with slight undervolt pulls max ~340W - Fantastic value for the money
Cons: - As mentioned in pros, depending on the model you might get mild coil whine but it's really way to overblown by reviewers. The card can get a bit louder in smaller form factor cases with 3 fans spinning at 3100rpm but even with full load it's nowhere close to annoying and I have an open mini-itx case right next to me. - Ray-Tracing performance is not great. A lot better than before but just not great. But I also have to say, I'm a software developer, I work with Unreal Engine, and I'm older, I've been watching Ray-Tracing promises for the last 2 decades and after 2 decades it's still not that impressive. It's a huge performance hog and most of the modern game engines including Unreal Engine have technologies that provide same visuals with smarter better technology. - This is why I don't care about Ray-Tracing, and honestly, personally, when I play the game, I don't really get to even see that ray-tracing as I'm either moving, shooting or whatever. It's just a fad and a gimmick that sells new stuff. Don't fall for it. Trust me when I tell you the games look stunning with 7900 XT. Spiderman at 4k and 120fps at highest settings looks STUNNING flying through the city and Warzone and Call of Duty looks smooth, fast, with most settings at high.
Overall Review: I have to say something here. I am doing ok financially and I patiently waited and was hyped at first to get 4090, then I waited to see AMDs offering and I watched all reviews and negativity about the prices, the AMD and Nvidia. Please understand that a lot of tech blogs, youtubers and others live of off contraversy. It took me videos and videos and actually watching people play the games to decide to go with 7900 XT. I had 5700 XT previously and I knew any card I get will be a massive leap but the point I'm trying to make is that I wanted a nice 4k experience at 90-100fps in games in the end without wasting money. Let me just say this, 7900 XT is a tremendous card. 20gb of vram, the price and the power requirements are all fantastic to run on your existing setups. I am running i9 9900k with 32gb of ram. More than enough for anything. I took out the 5700 XT and replaced it with this 7900 XT. I run Corsair 850W PSU and it is just amazing that I had ZERO problems. I simply couldn't be happier. Silky smooth 100-120fps+ in 4k in games like Spiderman Remastered (I do run FSR 2.1 in Spiderman), 120fps+ on Call of Duty in 4k with high optimized settings without any FSR turned on, I ran a few other games and they all ran silky smooth at 90-100fps+. If the game does have FSR 2.1 you will shoot up to 120fps+. That's incredibly impressive. I want to say this, from experience, unlike the tech blogs and youtubers who test and run these cars in max-ed out settings which are very misleading, I am just a person who wants to have games run smoothly and a nice 4k with fast FPS my minimum is 90fps and above. That was my goal and this card delivers. I never run "ultra" settings on anything even if the card is "supposed" to have no issues with it. Why? Because ultra settings have so many settings that are pointless and literally not visible as you play and yet cause a huge performance hit. Running optimized high settings while turning off useless ultra settings is what I advise everyone to do. I tried running these games in ultra settings, the frame rates dropped 10-20 fps for no reason whatsoever without any visual improvement you can percieve while you play. So trust me when I tell you, just take a bit of time to understand the settings of the game you play, look it up on forums and other places for the most optimal visual settings while minimizing useless punishing overhead and you will be super happy. You will get easily 4k at 120fps and gorgeous looking games. To wrap it up, this card is amazing, I don't understand the negativity around it simply because A) this card is cheaper than any other top tier last gen card yet consisently outperforms 3090ti and 6950XT by 15-20% margin. At $899 the price is incredible for what you get. 4k gaming at high FPS with stunning visuals. How is this not win/win for everyone. I personally didn't really need anything faster but if you can dish $100 more bucks just go for XTX. That card will give you another 20-30% more power but if not, trust me when I tell you, you will be very happy with 7900 XT. It's a no brainer and in this world of insane GPU prices it's amazingly priced. And this is coming from a person who ran up until the last card Nvidia cards all my life. P.S I'm using 22.12.2 drivers and have had zero crashes or performance issues so far.
Pros: -Super quick, beats my 3070 by a huge margin -Looks good (don't deny appearances matter) -Uses standard power plugs (matters to me) -Only 750w psu requirement -size; fits in mAtx case/build with space to spare
Cons: -Early adoption driver issues -Like drivers, weird early adoption issues in some games. Resolved with some tinkering, but happened
Overall Review: Love the card, and am very happy to no longer be supporting the green giant. Size and performance are huge pros.
Pros: This card runs pretty cool, and the fans are not very loud, even at max speed. Undervolting, and overclocking both memory and core boosted core clocks to a consistent 2900Mhz, and the memory is running at 2615Mhz. Runs every game I throw at it at 1440p, and 4k without issue.
Cons: There does appear to be a driver issue that is keeping VRAM clocks, and power draw basically at max, regardless of what the card is doing, which is causing idle power draw to be at about 100w (+/- 5-8w). This means that memory temperatures at idle, with the fan running at low speeds are around 70c (with my card specifically, I cannot speak for anyone else). As Ive said, I believe this to be a driver and/or firmware issue that will be resolved at some point in the near future (according to AMD as they e acknowledged this in their most recent driver update).
Overall Review: High performer at 4k, great overclocker despite reviewers bashing the reference model. Even with the vram issue, Ive experienced no issue in games, or regular day to day use. Id recommend at least a quality 750w psu as this card has shown peaks (from my experiences) of a little over 520w of power draw. Pairing this with a high end cpu on an underperforming psu can lead to problems. Make sure to mount the card properly, as this card is quite dense, and Id imagine this is where users are reporting overheating issues with the XT/XTX cards. There is no RGB on this model of the card, but thats not really an issue for me personally.
Pros: This was an upgrade from my Sapphire Nitro 6700xt and the performance is amazing, as expected. Like some of the other reviewers, a lot of tech reviewers have basically written this card off because of the price/performance compared to the XTX, but this is still an excellent gpu and it was in stock and fit my build perfectly. Really nice that i didnt have to make other system upgrades like PSU. The reference card feels very premium compared to other third party cards ive had before. Metal backplate and black on black aesthetic are much appreciated. No driver issues like some have reported and temps are normal (doesnt really get above 60 degrees).
Cons: Nothing really to complain about so far performance wise, AMD has made a lot of improvements to the 6000 series cards since their launch and i expect the same for these. No rgb, and the card is very dense for its small size (a little bit of sag without a support bracket or stand).
Overall Review: -Big improvement over AMD 6000 series cards -Good temps and performance -No RGB -This card is definitely not something to sleep on if you can find it in stock
Pros: FPS pretty much always matches my 1440p ultrawides 144hz refresh rate. Games look great
Overall Review: It wasnt what I wanted. I wanted a 7900 xtx but they were all sold out and I couldnt wait any longer to get rid of my gtx 1050. That being said it works well.
Overall Review: Best 1440p card on the market.
Overall Review: GreaT product and a fantastic upgrade from my 2060 KO. Works great hot spot is only 11c difference well within tolerances from 65c temp to 76c hot spot I find that very acceptable. With the prices NVIDIA is demanding for their GPU's I'm a very happy first time AMD buyer.
Pros: - Outstanding Performance - Quiet even at 100 percent fan speed - Drivers have given me almost zero issues - No need to use adapter cable and have my nice clean custom cables go to waste
Cons: - Price to performance is downright predatory compared to previous generations - Temps will get fairly high on this reference model
Overall Review: Overall this GPU has been great for me. I was forced to purchase a new GPU after the used Red Dragon RX 6800 I bought from a friend of mine died on me. Unfortunately, that AIB partner does not support warranty transfer, and my friend now lives in Germany so I did not have an RMA option. The drivers have been surprisingly bug free so far. I have owned several AMD GPUs in the past but never had the pleasure of being an early adopter. I only heard negative things about early versions of AMD drivers being buggy as hell, but the drivers have been great for me. Only required a reboot twice so far in almost 3 weeks of daily usage on multiple games (Rocket League, Overwatch 2, Warzone 2, PUBG, Fortnite UE5 update). It even manages to give me a very smooth and bug free experience on ARK. My fan curve is set to max out fan speed at 80 percent and in general is not very aggressive. I am also using an ASUS Prime AP201 case with 3 intake fans and 2 exhaust mounted on 240mm aio (all 120mm fans). The 7900 XT temps at full load during long term sessions (over an hour) are as follows: ambiet room temp - 20C, GPU Temp - 65-75C, Hotspot Temp - 80-85C, and Memory temp - 90-95C. You could reduce the temperatures significantly by allowing the GPU fans to go full speed, but I find it unnecessary as all of these temps are perfectly normal for this GPU. The reason I listed this a con is because it does dump a lot of heat out into your room at this temperature.
Pros: - Great stock temperatures (tested 011 Air Mini - full load: 68% max fan speed - 81C hotspot / 65C overall) - Easily overclocks to 2.5GHz with no thermal throttling - Custom fan curve can reasonably keep temps in check (highly suggest custom fan profile at 64%/72% max fan speed) - Easily hits 120-144FPS at 2K resolution gaming - Clean design
Cons: - My specific unit came with a defective fan, will be returning - stock fan profile curve can be quite loud at load
Overall Review: Would highly suggest this card to someone looking to upgrade assuming it doesn't go over release MSRP.
Pros: -Gets the job done. -Great temps. -Runs great on my 750W PSU!
Overall Review: -Would definitely recommend to others. -Will definitely be buying more Sapphire cards in the future.
